Kalimpong Subsidiary Correctional Home

Established prior to the independence, the Kalimpong SubSidiary Correctional Home is located near the Kalimpong Collectorate besides the Town Hall. It is one of the oldest Correctional Homes of West Bengal. With progress of time, more space and infrastructures were built to cater the rising need.

The Sub-Divisional Officer, Kalimpong is the Superintendent of this Correctional Home. A Controller looks after the day to day matters of this Correctional Home. Only prisoners on trial are kept here. The total area of the Correctional Home is about 0.9 acre. There is a proposal to shift it to a spacious place to make it a District Correctional Home with far more capacity as Kalimpong has become a full fledged district now.
